What is Can Bus?Do I need can bus to install the car dvd player for my car?

Let's read the instruction from Wiki:

Controller–area network (CAN or CAN-bus) is a vehicle bus standard designed to allow microcontrollers and devices to communicate with each other within a vehicle without a host computer.

CAN is a message based protocol, designed specifically for automotive applications but now also used in other areas such as industrial automation and medical equipment.

For the car dvd player,we need the can bus to make the original information work,such as used for transmission, airbags, antilock braking, cruise control, audio systems, windows, doors, mirror adjustment, etc.And the main function to make the steering wheel control work after we replace the car dvd player to the cd player,and to make the original lcd or the car information working as original.Check the samples below:

Some of the car dvd player use built-in can bus,and some other factory prefer an external can bus box,like this one:

I have a Nissan Murano 2005, I want to buy model 2611 (2 Din Car PC Car DVD player with Motorized panel TV Radio Bluetooth GPS) but I have some questions:
a) Is the bluetooth compatible with BlackBerry 9700?
b) on the front of the device where is the USB slot?
c) How does work rear camera model CM012 on this device? Can it be compatible with parking sensors?
d) Do I need to install can bus to make the steering wheel control work after I replace car's cd player?
e) Is this machine (Model 2611 Car DVD player) independent of Flip Down Car DVD player model 900D?
f) What are the dimensions of this team, width, length, etc..?
g) Is it necessary to install the TV Receiver ATSC?

Re:You can connect the rear camera with car dvd player via AUX cable ,and our car dvd player support automatic reversing rearview. The rear camera will not affect your parking sensor ,because they are two independent functions ;

d) Do I need to install can bus to make the steering wheel control work after I replace car's cd player?
Re:What's your car brand ? You car is with can bus or not ? This car dvd player is a standard two din car dvd player without can bus ,it's compatible with those car which are without can bus ; if the car is with can bus ,the steering wheel control function will be lost if install this universal car dvd player ;

Re:Yes,this car dvd player is independent from Flip Down Car DVD player model 900D , but you can also connect them with AUX cables;

Re:Where are you from ? ATSC TV receiver box is for USA digital TV . For digital TV ,we have DVB-T TV receiver for Europe ,ISDB-T TV Receiver for Souch Africa and ATSC TV Receiver for USA.

The can bus can not work if the car no can bus,or if the can bus not fit to the car.
As our experience,the 2.0L Hyundai IX35 no need can bus,it can work with steering wheel control without can bus.
But the 2.4L Hyundai IX35 need the can bus,we have the correct can bus for this car,you can check this model:

hi my question is i have a mazda 3 2010 i touring and i want to know if my car has a can-bus because i want to buy a gps dvd stereo unit but im not sure if my car has the can-Bus

Dear Victor,usually Mazda3 is with can bus ,you can ask your car dealer whether your car is with can bus or not.
